The Taiwan Semiconductor ES1DLWHRVG is a super fast recovery surface mount rectifier diode designed for high-efficiency switching applications. With a 200V maximum repetitive peak reverse voltage and 1A average forward current, this diode achieves a reverse recovery time of just 35ns, making it suitable for high-frequency switching power supplies and converter circuits. The device features a glass passivated chip junction for enhanced reliability and a low forward voltage drop of 0.95V to minimize conduction losses. Qualified to AEC-Q101 Rev C standards, the ES1DLWHRVG is suitable for automotive applications. The SOD-123W package offers a compact footprint with a maximum height of 0.92mm, ideal for space-constrained designs. The device is also halogen-free and antimony-free, meeting modern environmental requirements.

The ES1DLWHRVG operates as a unidirectional current switch based on a P-N junction diode structure. In forward bias, current flows from anode to cathode with a low forward voltage drop of 0.95V at 1A. When the applied voltage reverses, the diode blocks current flow with only 5μA of leakage current at the rated 200V reverse voltage. The super fast recovery characteristic (35ns) is achieved through optimized carrier lifetime control in the silicon, which rapidly removes stored minority carriers during the transition from forward conduction to reverse blocking. The glass passivation of the junction surface prevents contamination and ensures long-term reliability. The junction capacitance of 20pF at 4V reverse bias represents the depletion capacitance that must be charged during each reverse recovery event.
