The GD25Q127CYIGR from GigaDevice Semiconductor is a 128Mb (16MB) serial NOR flash memory supporting standard SPI, Dual I/O, and Quad I/O modes up to 104 MHz. Organized as 16M x 8 bits with uniform 4KB sectors and 64KB blocks, the device provides flexible erase granularity and 100,000-cycle endurance. The 2.7V to 3.6V supply range makes it compatible with standard 3.3V logic systems. Features include programmable sector protection, top/bottom array protection, one-time programmable (OTP) area, and deep power-down mode. The 8-WDFN exposed pad package provides excellent thermal performance and is command-set compatible with Winbond W25Q128 and similar devices.

The GD25Q127CYIGR operates as a standard SPI peripheral with chip select (CS), serial clock (CLK), and data lines (DI, DO, WP, HOLD). In Quad I/O mode, all four data pins serve as bidirectional I/O, enabling 4-bit-per-clock transfer at up to 104 MHz for execute-in-place (XIP) code execution. Read operations access the flash array through the SPI command protocol, while program and erase operations require the write-enable (WREN) command followed by the specific program/erase command. The internal state machine manages timing for page program (2.4 ms typical), sector erase, and block erase operations. The deep power-down command reduces standby current to microamp levels for battery-powered applications.
