The SDRAM uses synchronous operation where all inputs and outputs are synchronized to the rising edge of the clock signal. Memory is organized into four banks, each with its own row and column address space. Active (ACT) command opens a row, then Read/Write commands access columns within the open row. Auto-precharge closes the row after the burst. The 4-bank architecture allows interleaved access for higher bandwidth. Auto refresh and self refresh modes maintain data integrity.
