The MCP1826T-3302E/DC is a 1A, 3.3V fixed-output, Low Dropout (LDO) linear regulator from Microchip Technology with AEC-Q100 automotive qualification. It features low dropout voltage (250 mV typical at 1000 mA), high output voltage accuracy (±0.5% typical), and is stable with only a 1.0 µF ceramic output capacitor. The device includes a shutdown (EN) pin that reduces supply current to 0.1 µA, and a power-good output with fixed delay for supply monitoring. Short circuit current limiting and overtemperature protection ensure robust operation in demanding environments.

The MCP1826 uses a P-channel MOSFET pass transistor controlled by an error amplifier that compares a divided version of the output voltage to an internal precision bandgap reference. The low RDS(ON) of the PMOS pass transistor achieves 250 mV dropout at full 1A load. The error amplifier provides fast transient response to load steps. The power-good (PG) comparator monitors the output voltage through an internal voltage divider and asserts the open-drain PG output after a fixed delay when the output is within regulation. The enable (EN) pin controls the pass transistor gate; when EN is low, the pass transistor is turned off, reducing supply current to 0.1 µA. Current limiting and thermal shutdown protect against overload and overheating conditions.
