The REC5-2412DRW/H2/A/M from Recom Power is a 5W isolated DC-DC converter from the REC5 series, with 24V nominal input (9-36VDC range) and dual ±12VDC regulated outputs. The 3000VDC reinforced isolation makes it ideal for IGBT/SiC MOSFET gate driver power supplies and isolated analog signal conditioning. Housed in a DIP-24 through-hole package (31.5×20.3×11.0mm), it provides continuous short-circuit protection and EN 60950-1 safety approval.

The REC5 uses a forward or flyback converter topology with a compact planar transformer. The 24V nominal input (9-36V range) is converted to dual ±12V outputs through separate secondary windings and post-regulation. The 3000VDC isolation barrier between primary and secondary provides reinforced isolation for safety-critical applications. The continuous short-circuit protection uses hiccup-mode current limiting that automatically recovers when the fault is removed.
