The PMEG4010CEJ,115 from NXP is a 40V/1A planar Schottky rectifier in SOD-323 flat-lead package. Low 0.42V forward voltage at 1A minimizes conduction loss in DC-DC converter free-wheeling and OR-ing applications. The planar epitaxial construction ensures uniform current distribution and high reliability. Sub-1ns reverse recovery eliminates switching loss.

Planar Schottky barrier formed by metal (MoPtSi) on lightly-doped n-type silicon. The barrier height determines VF and leakage. The planar structure uses a diffused p-well guard ring around the active Schottky area for controlled avalanche breakdown and reverse surge protection. Majority carrier conduction with no stored charge gives sub-ns recovery.
