Operating from 1.65V to 5.5V, it generates precision output pulses whose width is set by external resistor and capacitor timing components. The retriggerable architecture allows extending the output pulse by applying additional trigger edges during the active pulse. The direct clear (CLR) input enables immediate pulse termination. With complementary Q and Q-bar outputs and over-voltage tolerant inputs, this device is ideal for pulse generation, switch debounce, and timing applications in mixed-voltage digital systems.

The SN74LVC1G123DCTT operates as a retriggerable one-shot multivibrator. A trigger event (rising edge on A input or falling edge on B input) starts the output pulse, which remains active for a duration determined by the external timing resistor (Rext) and capacitor (Cext): tw = 0.45 x Rext x Cext. During the active pulse, additional trigger events restart the timing period (retriggerable mode), effectively extending the output pulse width. The CLR input immediately terminates the active pulse when pulled low. The complementary outputs (Q and Q-bar) provide both active-high and active-low pulse signals. The device uses CMOS technology for low power consumption and wide supply voltage compatibility.
