The SN74LVC1G17 is a single Schmitt-trigger buffer from Texas Instruments’ LVC logic family. It is optimized for 1.65V to 5.5V operation and features Schmitt-trigger inputs that provide hysteresis for superior noise rejection on slowly changing or noisy input signals. The device is particularly useful for converting slowly changing analog signals into clean digital outputs. The DSF package variant uses the ultra-compact NanoStar WFBGA footprint, making it ideal for space-constrained applications where PCB area is at a premium.

The SN74LVC1G17 employs a Schmitt-trigger input stage that features two distinct threshold voltages: a higher threshold (VT+) for rising inputs and a lower threshold (VT-) for falling inputs. The voltage difference between these thresholds constitutes the hysteresis, which prevents output oscillation when the input signal is near the switching threshold or contains noise. The push-pull output stage provides active drive in both high and low states, ensuring fast edge rates. The Ioff circuitry disables the output when VCC is at 0V, allowing the device to be used in systems with partial power-down without back-driving the supply rail.
