The TLV62130RGTT from Texas Instruments is a 3A, 3V-to-17V synchronous step-down DC-DC converter in a VQFN-16 (RGT) 3×3 mm package. It is the same device as the TLV62130RGTR with a different packaging option (small T&R quantity of 250 pcs). Using DCS-Control topology, it delivers up to 2.5 MHz switching frequency, 19 uA quiescent current, and programmable soft-start for high-density POL applications.

The TLV62130RGTT is the same high-efficiency synchronous step-down DC-DC converter as the TLV62130RGTR, offered in a smaller packaging quantity (250 pcs small T&R vs 3000 pcs large T&R). It uses TI’s proprietary DCS-Control topology for fast transient response and high output voltage accuracy, supporting 3V to 17V input with up to 3A output current. The adjustable output ranges from 0.9V to 5.5V. A pin-selectable switching frequency (1.25 or 2.5 MHz) enables trade-offs between efficiency and solution size, while 19 uA quiescent current in power-save mode ensures high efficiency at light loads.

The TLV62130 employs TI’s DCS-Control (Direct Control with Seamless transition) topology, combining voltage-mode control with a direct feedforward path for fast transient response. At heavy loads, the device operates in PWM mode at the selected frequency. As load decreases, it seamlessly transitions to power-save mode (PFM), reducing switching frequency to maintain efficiency. The 100% duty cycle mode allows the high-side MOSFET to remain on continuously when input voltage approaches output voltage, minimizing dropout. Programmable soft-start via the SS/TR pin controls output voltage ramp rate for sequencing or tracking. The open-drain PG pin indicates output regulation status.
