The TXS02612 is an SDIO port expander with integrated voltage-level translation from Texas Instruments, designed to interface a cell phone baseband processor with two SDIO peripherals such as SD/MMC cards, Bluetooth modules, or WLAN adapters. The device includes a 6-channel SPDT switch (CLK, CMD, DAT0-DAT3) with bidirectional level translation capability, allowing the A port and two B ports to operate at different supply voltages from 1.1V to 3.6V. The SEL pin chooses between B0 and B1 ports, while 70 kOhm pull-up resistors on unselected B port data and command lines ensure proper bus idle states.

The TXS02612 uses a 6-channel SPDT switch matrix to connect the A port (baseband side) to either the B0 or B1 port (peripheral side). The SEL pin, referenced to VCCA, determines which B port is active. For the selected B port, all 6 channels (CLK, CMD, DAT0-DAT3) pass bidirectional data with integrated level translation between VCCA and the selected VCCB. The CLK channel for the unselected port is held LOW, while DAT and CMD lines are pulled HIGH to their respective VCCB through 70 kOhm resistors. The level translation uses edge-rate accelerators for fast transitions, supporting data rates up to 120 Mbps. The B port features +/-8 kV IEC ESD protection for direct SD card connector connection.
