The Wurth Elektronik WEA012832FWPP3N00000-WSR is a thick film anti-sulfur general-purpose resistor from the WRIS-RSKS series. Engineered for environments with sulfur contamination – common in automotive, industrial, and oil/gas applications – this resistor uses a specialized internal electrode system that resists silver migration and sulfidation, preventing the open-circuit failures that plague standard thick film resistors. AEC-Q200 qualified, it meets the demanding reliability requirements of automotive and industrial applications.

Standard thick film resistors use silver-based inner electrodes that are susceptible to sulfur ingress, which causes silver sulfide formation and eventually leads to an open circuit. The WEA012832FWPP3N00000-WSR anti-sulfur resistor replaces the silver-based inner electrode with a non-silver alloy system that is immune to sulfidation. The thick film resistive element is deposited on a ceramic substrate and laser-trimmed for precision. Nickel barrier and tin termination layers provide solderability while preventing intermetallic diffusion during reflow soldering. Under operating conditions, the resistor maintains stable resistance within its specified tolerance across the -55C to +155C temperature range.
