Product Overview
The ADT7470ARQZ-REEL7 is a temperature sensor hub and PWM fan controller from Analog Devices, designed for thermal management in computers, servers, networking equipment, and telecommunications systems. The device monitors up to 10 remote temperature sensors (TMP05 or TMP06) daisy-chained together on a single 1-wire bus, and independently monitors and controls up to four cooling fans using PWM outputs and tachometer inputs. All measured values (temperatures and fan speeds) are compared against user-programmable limit values, with out-of-limit conditions flagged via status registers and the SMBALERT interrupt output. The ADT7470 communicates with the host system through a fast-mode (up to 400 kHz) I2C/SMBus interface. A three-state ADDR pin allows up to three ADT7470 devices to share the same bus. Additional features include FULL_SPEED input for hardware-based full-speed fan override, auto and manual fan control modes, and support for SMBus 2.0 specifications. The ADT7470ARQZ-REEL7 is packaged in a 16-lead QSOP and operates over the -40C to +125C temperature range.
