The EPCOS/TDK B43630A5108M000 is a 1000 uF, 450V aluminum electrolytic capacitor from the B43630A snap-in series. Designed for high-ripple-current applications in industrial power electronics, this capacitor provides a high ripple current rating of 4.26A and robust energy storage for DC-link and PFC applications. The snap-in terminals ensure secure PCB mounting while enabling easy field replacement. The 85C rated lifetime of 2,000 hours ensures reliable operation in demanding industrial environments.

The B43630A5108M000 uses a wound aluminum foil construction with an electrolyte-impregnated separator between the anode and cathode foils. The anode foil is electrochemically etched to increase surface area, then anodized to form a thin aluminum oxide dielectric layer. The cathode foil provides the counter-electrode, while the electrolyte maintains electrical contact with the oxide layer and provides self-healing capability. During operation, the capacitor stores charge in the electric field across the oxide dielectric, providing bulk energy storage and ripple current smoothing. The snap-in terminals provide secure mechanical attachment to the PCB while enabling easy replacement.
