The RPP20-2405S from RECOM Power is a 20W isolated DC-DC converter from the RPP20 railway-grade series, with 24V nominal input (9-36VDC, 4:1 range) and 5V single output at 4A. With 3000VDC reinforced isolation, EN 50155 railway compliance, and full protection suite (OVP, OCP, UVLO, SCP), it is designed for demanding railway and industrial environments. The 90% typical efficiency minimizes thermal management requirements, while remote on/off enables power sequencing.

The RPP20 uses a half-bridge or forward converter topology with a planar transformer for high efficiency and compact size. The 4:1 wide input range is achieved through feedforward control. The 3000VDC isolation barrier between primary and secondary meets reinforced isolation requirements for railway EN 50155 compliance. Output regulation uses an optocoupler feedback loop with error amplifier. The full protection suite monitors output voltage, current, and input undervoltage, shutting down the converter when limits are exceeded with automatic recovery.
