Principio de funcionamiento

The AM188ER shares the same 80C186 core but multiplexes the 16-bit internal data bus onto an 8-bit external bus, halving the data bus pin count. This reduces package size and system cost for applications not requiring 16-bit bus bandwidth. All internal peripherals function identically to the AM186ER. The 8-bit bus interface automatically performs high/low byte assembly for word accesses. Two clock cycles are required for word transfers vs. one for the AM186.
