The FSMSMTR from Littelfuse is a surface-mount fast-acting chip fuse from the Nano Squared (Nano2) 453 series, designed for secondary circuit overcurrent protection in space-constrained applications. It provides very fast-acting (FF) protection in a compact ceramic body with 125 V rating.

The FSMSMTR from Littelfuse is a surface-mount chip fuse from the Nano Squared (Nano2) 453 series designed for secondary circuit overcurrent protection. The very fast-acting (FF) characteristic ensures rapid interruption of fault currents, protecting sensitive semiconductor components from damage during overcurrent events. The ceramic body provides excellent thermal stability and resistance to solder heat during reflow assembly. Rated at 125 VAC/125 VDC with a breaking capacity of 50 A, the fuse is suitable for a wide range of secondary circuit protection applications in computing, consumer electronics, and networking equipment.

The FSMSMTR uses a fusible element within a sealed ceramic body that melts and interrupts the circuit when the current exceeds the rated value for a defined time. The very fast-acting (FF) characteristic means the fuse opens very quickly at moderate overcurrent levels, providing superior protection for sensitive semiconductor devices. The ceramic body encapsulates the fuse element, preventing arcing and containing the molten metal safely when the fuse blows. The silver-plated brass cap terminations provide reliable solder joints and low contact resistance in surface-mount applications.
