The HSZ180KAQBF0KR from Vishay BC Components is an 18 MOhm metal glaze through-hole resistor from the VR37 (0309) series. This high-ohmic, high-voltage resistor is designed for applications requiring very high resistance values with excellent voltage withstand capability. The metal glazed film deposited on a ceramic body provides stable resistance under high voltage stress. UL approved per UL1676 and compliant with IEC 62368-1 safety requirements, it is suitable for use in white goods, power supplies, and automotive electronics where safety certification is required.

The VR37 series uses a metal glazed resistive film deposited on a high-grade ceramic body. A helical groove is cut into the resistive layer to achieve the target 18 MOhm resistance, providing a long resistive path in a compact axial package. The metal glaze technology provides excellent stability under high voltage stress, with low voltage coefficient and minimal resistance change under DC load. The tinned copper leads are welded to end-caps, and the body is coated with light blue lacquer for electrical, mechanical, and climatic protection. The 3500 V rating is achieved through the long creepage path of the helical groove.
