The SN74LVC2244APWR is an octal buffer/line driver from Texas Instruments designed for 1.65-V to 3.6-V VCC operation. A distinguishing feature is its built-in 26-ohm series output resistors, which provide impedance matching for transmission line driving without requiring external termination components. The device is organized as two 4-bit buffer sections, each with an active-low output-enable input. Inputs can accept voltages up to 5.5 V, allowing use as a translator in mixed 3.3-V and 5-V environments. The Ioff circuitry supports live insertion and partial-power-down applications.

The SN74LVC2244APWR operates as two independent 4-bit buffer sections with active-low output-enable (1OE, 2OE) controls. When the OE input is low, the corresponding buffer section passes data from input to output with true polarity through integrated 26-ohm series resistors. These series resistors provide source termination for transmission lines, reducing reflections and improving signal integrity. When OE is high, the outputs assume a high-impedance state, enabling bus sharing. The Ioff circuitry ensures outputs are disabled when VCC is zero, preventing backflow current.
