The device features a standard parallel NAND interface with x8 data bus width and is ONFI 1.0 compliant. The memory has a page size of 2048+64 bytes and a block size of 128K+4K bytes, requiring 4-bit ECC per 528 bytes for data integrity. Performance specifications include 25us maximum page read latency, 20ns minimum sequential read cycle time, 300us typical page program time, and 1ms typical block erase time. The device supports standard NAND commands including cache read, cache program, copy-back, status read, unique ID read, and block protection. It features 30 OTP (One-Time Programmable) pages and ONFI standard Unique ID. Hardware block protection is available via the PT pin and BP bits. With 100K program/erase cycle endurance and 10-year data retention, it is well-suited for demanding embedded storage applications. Note: This device is Not For New Designs; the recommended replacement is MX30LF4G28AD with 4KB page size and 8-bit ECC.

The MX30LF4G18AC operates as a standard parallel NAND Flash memory with SLC (Single-Level Cell) architecture. Each memory cell stores one bit of data by trapping charge in a floating gate, providing higher reliability and endurance compared to multi-level cell (MLC) NAND. The device uses an 8-bit bidirectional data bus for transferring commands, addresses, and data, controlled by CLE (Command Latch Enable), ALE (Address Latch Enable), CE# (Chip Enable), RE# (Read Enable), and WE# (Write Enable) signals. During a read operation, the addressed page is transferred from the NAND array to the internal page buffer (tR = 25us max), then shifted out via the I/O bus. Program operations load data into the page buffer, then program it into the selected memory cells. Erase operations clear entire blocks of 128KB+4KB. The RY/BY# pin indicates when the device is busy executing an operation. Since SLC NAND naturally has better data retention than MLC, only 4-bit ECC is required. Bad blocks are factory-marked and should be managed by the host system’s bad block management algorithm.
