The TPIC6273DWR:TI is an 8-bit shift register with 8 high-side DMOS power outputs in SOIC-20 package. Serial-in/parallel-out shift register minimizes MCU pin count (3 pins control 8 outputs). 45V load voltage and 250mA per output for LED display and automotive lamp driving. 5 Ohm Rds on per DMOS FET. Daisy-chainable via serial output for cascaded driving.

Data is shifted into the 8-bit register via SER IN on each rising CLK edge. LATCH transfers the shift register to the output latch. ENABLE controls the DMOS output drivers. Each DMOS FET is a high-side switch connecting the load to the supply voltage. The serial output (SER OUT) allows daisy-chaining multiple TPIC6273 devices for 16, 24, or more outputs from the same 3-wire interface. DMOS FETs are much faster than Darlington drivers for PWM dimming.
