The DLP4711AFQL is a 0.47-inch diagonal digital micromirror device (DMD) from Texas Instruments belonging to the DLP4710 family. It features a 1920 x 1080 array of aluminum micromirrors on a 5.4 µm pitch with ±17° tilt angle. The device uses bottom illumination for optimal optical efficiency and a 32-bit SubLVDS input data bus for high-speed interface with the display controller. As part of the DLP4710 chipset, it is paired with the DLPC3479 display controller and DLPA3000 or DLPA3005 PMIC/LED driver to form a complete system solution for compact, low-power Full HD display systems.

The DLP4711 DMD operates as a spatial light modulator (SLM) using MOEMS (micro-opto-electromechanical system) technology. Each of the 2+ million aluminum micromirrors can individually tilt to +17° or -17° relative to the array plane. In the ON state, a mirror reflects illumination light through the projection optics toward the screen. In the OFF state, the mirror directs light away from the projection lens into a light dump. The micromirror states are controlled by underlying CMOS memory cells addressed via the 32-bit SubLVDS data bus from the DLPC3479 controller. By rapidly switching mirrors in a color-sequential pattern synchronized with RGB LED illumination, full-color images are produced at high refresh rates.
