The FDMS86350 from onsemi is an 80V 130A PowerTrench N-channel MOSFET with 2.4 mOhm RDS(on) in a PQFN-8 (5x6mm) package. The ultra-low RDS(on) minimizes conduction losses for high-current synchronous rectification in server and telecom DC-DC converters. 864mJ single-pulse avalanche energy provides ruggedness against unclamped inductive switching. PQFN-8 package provides 0.8C/W Rth(j-c) for efficient heatsinking through the PCB.

PowerTrench technology uses deep trench gates for high cell density and low RDS(on). The PQFN-8 package exposes the drain pad on the bottom for direct PCB heat spreading. The 110nC total gate charge and 23nC Miller charge provide a good Figure of Merit (FOM = RDS(on) x Qg) for both conduction and switching efficiency.
