The MB6S from MDD (Microdiode Electronics) is a 0.5A, 600V single-phase glass-passivated bridge rectifier in a compact SOP-4 (MB-S) surface-mount package. It provides full-wave rectification of AC to DC with low forward voltage drop and high surge current capability. The MB6S from MDD is a 0.5A, 600V single-phase bridge rectifier in a compact SOP-4 surface-mount package. It provides full-wave AC-to-DC rectification with low 1.0V forward voltage drop and 30A surge current capability. The 600V rating supports universal AC input (85-264VAC), making it ideal for compact power supplies, wall adapters, and household appliance rectifier stages.

The MB6S contains four glass-passivated silicon diodes connected in a Graetz bridge configuration. During the positive half-cycle of AC input, two diagonal diodes conduct, routing current through the load in the forward direction. During the negative half-cycle, the other two diagonal diodes conduct, again routing current through the load in the same direction. This full-wave rectification produces a pulsating DC output with double the input frequency, which is then filtered by external capacitors. The glass passivation protects the junction surfaces from contamination and improves long-term reliability.
