The TLE2022 is a dual precision operational amplifier using TI’s advanced complementary bipolar process with isolated vertical PNP transistors. This process dramatically improves unity-gain bandwidth and slew rate over similar devices while maintaining excellent DC precision. The I-suffix version is specified for the -40°C to +85°C industrial temperature range. The input common-mode voltage range includes the negative supply rail, enabling single-supply operation for low-level signal conditioning. Phase-reversal protection prevents unexpected output state changes when inputs are driven below the negative rail. The device is an excellent upgrade path from the OP21 in applications requiring higher speed.

The TLE2022 uses a complementary bipolar process featuring isolated vertical PNP transistors that significantly improve AC performance compared to conventional lateral PNP designs. The input stage is a differential pair with active load that provides high open-loop gain (136dB typical). A bias circuit ensures extreme parameter stability over time and temperature, maintaining precision performance throughout the device’s lifetime. The output stage includes short-circuit protection and can drive capacitive loads without oscillation in most configurations. The phase-reversal protection circuit prevents the output from unexpectedly changing state when the input voltage is driven below the negative supply rail, a common failure mode in conventional op-amps used in single-supply applications.
