The brass contacts with bright tin plating are rated at 3 A per contact and feature a square cross-section (0.5 mm) for reliable engagement with the mating receptacle. The through-hole solder termination includes kinked tines that provide PCB retention during wave soldering operations. The nylon 66 glass-filled housing meets UL94 V-0 requirements.
The 440054-3 operates as a wire-to-board header in the HPI 2 mm interconnect system. The partially shrouded housing surrounds the pin contacts on three sides, providing protection from accidental damage while allowing easy visual inspection of the mated connection. The polarization features in the housing ensure the mating receptacle can only be inserted in the correct orientation.
