Product Overview
The ADS1115IRUGR is a precision 16-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) from Texas Instruments (Burr-Brown product line) featuring an onboard reference and oscillator. The device performs conversions at rates up to 860 samples per second (SPS) and offers four multiplexed inputs that can be configured as two differential or four single-ended channels. A programmable gain amplifier (PGA) provides gains from 2/3 to 16, allowing measurement of both large and small signals with high resolution. The ADS1115 communicates over an I2C-compatible interface and supports two address pins for connecting up to eight devices on the same bus. With an ultra-low supply current of only 150 microamps at 8 SPS, the device is ideal for battery-powered and portable applications. Additional features include an integrated temperature sensor, alert/ready pin with programmable comparator and hysteresis, and a sleep mode that reduces current to 0.5 microamps. The ADS1115IRUGR is packaged in a 10-pin QFN (2mm x 1.5mm) and operates over the industrial temperature range of -40C to +125C.
