Product Overview
The ADS1246IPWR is a highly integrated, precision 24-bit delta-sigma analog-to-digital converter (ADC) from Texas Instruments, specifically designed for precision sensor measurement applications including temperature sensors (thermocouples, RTDs, thermistors), pressure sensors, and weigh scales. The device features a low-noise programmable gain amplifier (PGA) with gains from 1 to 128, a precision delta-sigma ADC with single-cycle settling digital filter, and an internal oscillator. The ADS1246 provides one differential input and supports data rates up to 2,000 samples per second (SPS). At 20 SPS and below, both 50Hz and 60Hz line frequency interference are simultaneously rejected by the digital filter. With only 2.3 mW power consumption at 5V supply and 20 SPS, the device is suitable for low-power systems. The ADC achieves no missing codes at 24 bits, 15 ppm integral nonlinearity, and 48 nVrms noise at PGA = 128. The ADS1246IPWR is packaged in a 16-lead TSSOP and operates over the industrial temperature range of -40C to +105C.
