The AZ431LBNTR-G1 from Diodes Inc is a low-voltage (1.24V) adjustable precision shunt regulator in SOT-23-3. The 1.24V reference allows lower output voltages than standard TL431 (2.5V). +/-1% tolerance and 20 ppm/C tempco provide stable reference for feedback loops in switching power supplies, chargers, and motherboard VRMs. 100mA cathode current capability supports direct optocoupler drive in isolated supplies.

The AZ431L uses a bandgap reference circuit that generates a stable 1.24V at the REF pin. An internal error amplifier compares the REF voltage with the bandgap and drives the cathode to maintain regulation. Two external resistors set the output voltage: Vout = Vref * (1 + R1/R2). The 0.05 ohm dynamic impedance ensures stable loop operation.
