The MLX80050 KDC-BAA-000-RE from Melexis is a LIN 2.2a transceiver with integrated 3.3V or 5.0V LDO in a TSSOP-14 package. Compliant with ISO 21262-0:2019 and SAE J2602, it provides a complete LIN bus physical layer for automotive networks. The integrated LDO supplies up to 70mA for the local MCU and sensors, reducing external component count. Multiple wake-up sources (LIN bus, local pin, pattern) support low-power sleep modes. 6kV ESD and -27V to +40V bus fault protection ensure robust automotive operation.

The MLX80050 integrates a LIN bus transceiver and a 40V-tolerant LDO on one die. The LIN transceiver converts between the MCU UART signals (TXD/RXD) and the single-wire LIN bus protocol. The LDO generates 3.3V or 5.0V from the battery voltage (VBAT) to power the MCU. In sleep mode, both the transceiver and LDO consume minimal current (typ. 10uA), while wake-up comparators monitor the LIN bus and local wake pin. On wake-up, the LDO restarts and the MCU resumes operation.
