The ATWINC1500-MR210PB from Microchip is an IEEE 802.11 b/g/n WiFi network controller module with SPI host interface in a 22.7×14.8mm footprint. The module integrates the WINC1500 WiFi SoC, power amplifier, LNA, power management, and 2MB flash for firmware and TLS certificates. The on-module TCP/IP stack offloads WiFi and security processing from the host MCU, requiring only SPI commands for socket-level operations. +18dBm TX power and -89dBm RX sensitivity ensure reliable connectivity.

The ATWINC1500 module contains a dedicated WiFi SoC that runs the full MAC, PHY, and TCP/IP stack independently. The host sends high-level commands (connect, socket send/receive) via SPI. The WiFi SoC handles association, authentication, DHCP, DNS, and TLS internally. The integrated RF front-end (PA + LNA + TR switch) connects directly to a 50-ohm antenna. 2MB flash stores firmware, calibration, and TLS root certificates. OTA update allows firmware refresh without host intervention.
