The BTS724G is a quad-channel smart high-side power switch from Infineon Technologies’ Classic PROFET 24V family. It integrates four independent N-channel power MOSFETs with comprehensive protection and diagnostic circuitry in a single PG-DSO-20 package. Each channel delivers 3.3A nominal load current with 70mOhm typical on-resistance at 25°C. The device features overtemperature, overcurrent (self-limited to 15A), ESD, and load dump protection, CMOS-compatible inputs for direct MCU interfacing, and digital status feedback for diagnostics. AEC-Q100 qualified for automotive applications, with planned availability until at least 2039.

The BTS724G operates as four independent high-side power switches. Each channel is controlled by a CMOS-compatible logic input (IN1-IN4). When IN is high, the corresponding power FET turns on, connecting Vbb to the output (OUT). When IN is low, the FET turns off. Protection mechanisms: Overcurrent — each channel self-limits at 15A, shutting down if the fault persists. Overtemperature — thermal shutdown with hysteresis prevents junction damage. Load dump — internal clamping protects against automotive load dump pulses up to 60V. Diagnostics — the ST (status) pins provide digital feedback: low indicates fault (short circuit, overtemperature, or open load) on the corresponding channel pair. Fast demagnetization internally clamps inductive load energy. The separate logic ground (GND) isolates sensitive logic from load current paths.
