Product Overview
The CD4097BPWR from TI is a differential 8-channel analog multiplexer/demultiplexer with 400 ohm max ON resistance. It selects one of 8 differential pairs under 3-bit address control, suitable for differential signal routing in instrumentation and data acquisition.

Working Principle
Three address lines (A, B, C) select one of 8 differential channel pairs (X/Y side). Each selected pair connects the X-side common and Y-side common to the chosen channel. INH inhibit input disables all channels. CMOS transmission gate switches provide bilateral (bidirectional) signal flow with 400 ohm ON resistance.
Applications
- Differential signal multiplexing
- Data acquisition channel select
- Instrumentation input switching
- Medical ECG lead selection
