The DP83849IVS from TI is a dual-port 10/100Mbps Ethernet PHY with MII/RMII interfaces and 100BASE-FX fiber support. Each port operates independently, making it ideal for redundant or multi-port industrial networking. TDR cable diagnostics and dynamic link monitoring simplify installation and maintenance.

Each PHY port implements the physical layer independently. The 100BASE-TX transceiver handles copper connections with auto-negotiation and auto-MDIX. The 100BASE-FX interface supports fiber media via external transceivers. TDR diagnostics measure cable length and detect faults. The energy detection mode reduces power when no signal is present.
