The DRV8432 is a high-performance dual full-bridge PWM motor driver from Texas Instruments with an advanced protection system. It features low RDS(ON) MOSFETs (110 mΩ) achieving up to 97% efficiency, enabling smaller power supplies and heatsinks. The DRV8432 supports up to 2 × 7A continuous output current (2 × 12A peak) in dual full-bridge mode, or 14A continuous (24A peak) in parallel mode. It requires two power supplies: 12V for GVDD/VDD and up to 50V for PVDD. The device operates at up to 500 kHz switching frequency and includes programmable cycle-by-cycle current limit, overcurrent, overtemperature, undervoltage, and short circuit protection. Note: This product has been obsoleted by TI; recommended replacements are DRV8462 or DRV8962.

The DRV8432 integrates four half-bridge power stages using N-channel MOSFETs with 110 mΩ RDS(ON) per switch. Each half-bridge has independent PVDD and GND pins, allowing different supply voltages per bridge and enabling current sensing through external shunt resistors. The gate drive circuit uses bootstrap capacitors to drive the high-side NMOS gates, with intelligent timing to prevent cross-conduction. PWM inputs control each half-bridge independently. The M1/M2/M3 pins select the operating mode: dual full-bridge (2 or 4 PWM), parallel full-bridge, or complementary PWM mode. The OC_ADJ pin with an external resistor sets the overcurrent threshold for cycle-by-cycle current limiting. The OTW (overtemperature warning) and FAULT outputs provide real-time status. An internal 3.3V regulator (VREG) powers the digital logic. The thermal pad and heat slug must be properly heatsinked for full-current operation.
