The Analog Devices AD22105ARZ-REEL7 is a low-voltage resistor-programmable thermostatic switch. One external resistor sets the trip point from -40C to +150C with +/-2C accuracy and 4.1C hysteresis in an 8-pin SOIC package.

The AD22105ARZ-REEL7 from Analog Devices is a low-voltage resistor-programmable solid-state thermostatic switch in an 8-pin SOIC package. With only one external programming resistor, the device can be set to switch at any temperature from -40C to +150C with +/-2C maximum accuracy. When the ambient temperature exceeds the setpoint, the open-collector output asserts. The 4.1C typical hysteresis prevents rapid on/off cycling. At 230uW power dissipation (3.3V), self-heating errors are minimized.

The AD22105 uses a silicon temperature sensor that generates a voltage proportional to the ambient temperature (PTAT). This voltage is compared against a reference set by the external RSET resistor. When the sensor voltage exceeds the setpoint threshold, the comparator drives the open-collector output stage active. The 4.1C hysteresis is built into the comparator to prevent oscillation near the trip point. The internal 200k pull-up resistor allows direct connection to CMOS inputs or low-power LEDs without external components.
