The BAV70W,115 from Nexperia is a high-speed dual common-cathode switching diode in a tiny SOT323 (SC-70) surface-mount package. With 4ns maximum reverse recovery time and 1.5pF diode capacitance, it is optimized for high-speed signal switching applications. The 100V reverse voltage rating supports logic-level to moderate voltage steering. Two diodes share a common cathode in a 3-pin package, saving PCB area compared to two discrete diodes.

The BAV70W contains two silicon PN junction diodes with their cathodes connected together at pin 3. Each diode conducts forward current from its anode (pin 1 or 2) to the common cathode when the anode voltage exceeds the forward voltage drop (~0.7V). In reverse bias, the depleted region provides 100V blocking with minimal leakage (0.5uA). The small junction area minimizes capacitance (1.5pF) and stored charge, enabling fast 4ns recovery when switching from forward to reverse bias.
