The LM5060Q1MMX/NOPB from TI is an AEC-Q100 automotive high-side protection controller for 5.5V-65V systems. A charge pump drives an external N-channel MOSFET gate with controlled rise time for inrush current limiting. Features adjustable UVLO with hysteresis, programmable OVP, fault detection timer, and active-low power-good output. The MOSFET latches off on persistent fault. Functional safety documentation available for ASIL system design.

The LM5060 controls an external N-channel MOSFET in the high-side power path. A charge pump generates VGS above VIN to drive the N-ch FET. The TIMER capacitor programs three fault detection windows: startup VGS fault, transition VDS fault, and continuous overcurrent VDS fault. If any fault persists beyond its timer window, the MOSFET is latched off. UVLO and OVP comparators with adjustable thresholds protect against input voltage faults. The nPGD output indicates when VDS is below threshold (FET fully on).
