The MCP6074T-E/SL from Microchip is a quad auto-zeroing CMOS operational amplifier with 2µV maximum input offset voltage and 0.05µV/°C drift, eliminating 1/f flicker noise for precision DC measurement. Rail-to-rail input and output operation supports single-supply designs from 1.8V to 6.0V. The ultra-low 35µA per-channel supply current makes it ideal for battery-powered portable instrumentation. The E suffix extends the operating temperature to -40°C to +125°C for automotive and industrial environments.

The MCP6074 uses Microchip’s auto-zeroing (chopper-stabilized) technique to achieve ultra-low offset voltage and zero 1/f noise. The amplifier continuously samples its own offset and nulls it through a correction loop, effectively eliminating the low-frequency drift and noise that plagues standard CMOS op-amps. This auto-correction runs at an internal clock frequency above the signal bandwidth, with correction artifacts filtered out. The result is near-DC precision comparable to bipolar amplifiers with the low bias current (1pA) of CMOS.
