The SRU5028A-100Y from Bourns is a 10uH semi-shielded SMD power inductor in a 5.0×5.0×2.8mm package. Semi-shielded construction reduces EMI while maintaining compact size. 1.95A saturation current and 72 mOhm DCR provide efficient energy storage for DC-DC converters up to several MHz switching frequency. -40 to 125C operating range suits automotive and industrial applications.

The semi-shielded construction uses a ferrite composite resin coating over the wound coil, providing partial magnetic shielding that reduces field leakage compared to unshielded inductors while maintaining a smaller footprint than fully shielded types. The ferrite drum core provides the main flux path and inductance. The 10uH stores energy (E=0.5*L*I^2) during switch-on and releases it to the load during switch-off in a buck or boost converter.
