The LM2595SX-ADJ/NOPB from TI is a SIMPLE SWITCHER 1A step-down DC-DC converter in TO-263-7 package. 4.5V-40V input for industrial 24V and automotive 12V step-down. Adjustable output from 1.2V to 37V via external resistor divider. 150kHz switching frequency for small inductor. Up to 90% efficiency. Internal 2A/60V NPN switch with current-mode control.

Current-mode PWM controller drives an internal 2A NPN power switch. During switch on-time, current builds in the external inductor. During off-time, inductor current flows through the external catch diode to the load and output capacitor. Output: Vout = 1.23V * (1 + R2/R1). Current-mode control provides cycle-by-cycle current limiting and fast transient response. Soft-start limits inrush current during startup.
