The LNK623DG-TL from Power Integrations is an off-line AC-DC switcher with integrated 700V MOSFET for charger and adapter applications up to 6W. Primary-side regulation eliminates the optocoupler and secondary feedback circuit, reducing BOM cost and board area. 85-265VAC universal input for global market. Auto-restart and output short-circuit protection for safe operation.

The IC integrates a 700V N-channel MOSFET, oscillator, PWM controller, and primary-side feedback circuit on one die. During the MOSFET off-time, the auxiliary winding voltage (proportional to output voltage) is sampled for regulation – no optocoupler needed. The controller adjusts switching frequency and duty cycle to regulate output. EcoSmart reduces switching frequency at light load for low standby power.
