The MS560702BA03-50 from TE Connectivity (formerly Measurement Specialties) is a high-resolution barometric pressure sensor module in a compact QFN-8 package (5.0 x 3.0 x 1.0 mm). It integrates a high-linearity piezoresistive pressure sensor with a 24-bit delta-sigma ADC and factory-calibrated coefficients stored in internal PROM. The device operates from 1.8V to 3.6V with ultra-low standby current of 0.15uA, making it ideal for battery-powered applications. Supporting both I2C and SPI interfaces (up to 20MHz), the MS5607-02BA03 provides a precise digital 24-bit pressure and temperature output with altitude resolution of 20cm. The stainless steel cap ensures excellent media resistance. Multiple oversampling ratio (OSR) settings allow users to optimize for conversion speed versus current consumption. No external components are needed thanks to the internal oscillator.

The MS560702BA03-50 operates through three main subsystems: (1) Piezoresistive sensing element – A high-linearity pressure sensor die converts applied barometric pressure into a resistance change in a Wheatstone bridge configuration. The stainless steel cap protects the sensing element while allowing pressure transmission. (2) 24-bit delta-sigma ADC – The analog output from the pressure sensor is digitized by a high-resolution delta-sigma ADC. The ADC supports configurable oversampling ratios (256 to 4096), trading conversion time for resolution. At OSR=4096, the resolution reaches 0.016 mbar enabling 20cm altitude discrimination. (3) Digital signal processing – Factory-calibrated coefficients (6 coefficients stored in 128-bit PROM) compensate for temperature drift and non-linearity. The user reads raw D1 (pressure) and D2 (temperature) values, then applies the calibration algorithm specified in the datasheet to compute compensated pressure and temperature. The device supports I2C (address 0x76/0x77 selectable via CSB pin) and SPI Mode 0/3 interfaces.
