Working Principle
The RL78 core combines the 78K0R 16-bit CISC architecture with low-power design techniques including sub-clock operation (32.768kHz), SNOOZE mode, and halt mode. The flash memory supports on-chip debugging and self-programming. DMA controller transfers data between peripherals and memory without CPU intervention. The event link controller (ELC) allows peripheral events to trigger other peripheral actions without software intervention, reducing interrupt latency.
