The S25FL064LABMFI013 from Infineon is a 64Mb (8MB) SPI NOR Flash memory with Quad SPI interface in an 8-pin SOIC package. The Quad I/O mode doubles or quadruples read throughput at 133MHz clock. Multiple erase sector sizes (4KB, 64KB, 256KB) provide flexibility for code and data management. 100K cycle endurance and 20-year data retention at 85C ensure reliability. AEC-Q100 qualified for automotive applications.

The S25FL064L uses a NAND-like flash array with a NOR interface for random access. SPI commands (03h read, 02h program, D8h sector erase) access the memory through a 4-wire (single SPI) or 4-I/O (Quad SPI) interface. Quad SPI mode uses all four data pins (SI, SO, WP, HOLD redefined as IO0-IO3) for 4x command/address/data throughput. Internal volatile and non-volatile registers control Quad enable and protection settings.
