The SN65176DR from TI is a 5V RS-485/RS-422 transceiver supporting up to 12Mbps in half-duplex mode. With 32-node bus capability, wide common-mode range, and industry-standard 75176 pinout, it is the go-to choice for industrial differential communication networks.

The SN65176 combines a differential driver and receiver on a single chip. The driver converts TTL-level serial data into differential signals on the A/B bus lines. The receiver converts differential signals back to TTL. Separate driver enable (DE) and receiver enable (/RE) pins allow half-duplex operation. The driver features current limiting and thermal shutdown for fault protection.
