The ART Accelerator achieves 0-wait-state Flash execution at 168 MHz through instruction prefetch and cache. The STM32F407 series offers a rich peripheral set including three 12-bit ADCs (2.4 MSPS), two 12-bit DACs, seventeen timers, Ethernet MAC with IEEE 1588 precision time protocol, USB 2.0 OTG Full-Speed and High-Speed, three SPI, three I2C, four USARTs, two UARTs, two CAN, SDIO, and a camera interface (DCMI). The FSMC supports external SRAM, PSRAM, NOR, and NAND Flash. The device is offered in a 144-pin LQFP package with 114 I/Os.

The STM32F407ZET6 operates through five key subsystems:

1. Core & Memory: The Cortex-M4 with FPU executes at 168 MHz (210 DMIPS, 600 CoreMark). The ART Accelerator uses an instruction cache (1024 lines) and data cache to achieve 0-wait-state Flash access. The 64 KB CCM RAM provides deterministic zero-wait-state data access for time-critical algorithms. A 32-bit multi-layer bus matrix enables concurrent master accesses to different slaves.

2. Analog Subsystem: Three independent 12-bit ADCs operate at 2.4 MSPS each and can be interleaved for 7.2 MSPS combined throughput. Dual 12-bit DACs provide analog output with built-in waveform generation. An analog watchdog monitors input ranges.

3. Communication Interfaces: Ethernet MAC supports 10/100 Mbps with IEEE 1588 v2 hardware timestamping for precise network synchronization. USB OTG supports FS (12 Mbps) and HS (480 Mbps via ULPI). Multiple USART/UART, SPI, I2C, and CAN interfaces enable diverse connectivity.

4. Timing & Control: Seventeen timers include advanced motor-control PWM timers (complementary outputs with dead-time), general-purpose 16/32-bit timers, basic timers, and a SysTick timer. The RTC provides calendar with alarm and timestamp functions.

5. Power Management: Multiple power modes include Run, Sleep, Stop (with voltage scaling), and Standby. The integrated regulator supports dynamic voltage scaling. A battery backup domain preserves RTC and 4 KB backup registers.
