The TPS3803-01 is an ultra-low-power voltage detector from Texas Instruments with an adjustable SENSE threshold configured by two external resistors. It features +/-1.5% threshold accuracy and only 3 uA typical quiescent current, making it ideal for battery-powered and space-constrained applications. The open-drain RESET output asserts when the SENSE voltage drops below the programmed threshold or during power-on (when VDD exceeds 0.8V). The separate VDD and SENSE pins allow monitoring a different voltage rail than the device supply. Available in a tiny 5-pin SC-70 package.

The TPS3803-01 monitors the SENSE pin voltage against a precision internal reference (1.226V typical). External resistors R1 and R2 divide the monitored voltage to set the threshold: VIT = VREF x (R1+R2)/R2. When SENSE drops below the threshold, the open-drain RESET output is asserted low. During power-on, RESET is asserted when VDD exceeds 0.8V. As soon as VDD (and SENSE) rise above their thresholds, RESET is deasserted. The device has no internal delay, providing a fast 5 us typical propagation delay. The open-drain output requires an external pull-up resistor.
