The TS3DV520 is a 20-bit to 10-bit multiplexer/demultiplexer digital video switch with a single select (SEL) input that controls the data path. The device provides five differential channels for digital video signal switching and is fully compatible with DVI 1.0 and HDMI 1.2a specifications. With low and flat on-state resistance (6 Ω max, 0.5 Ω flatness), low on-capacitance (7.8 pF), and high bandwidth (2.4 GHz typical), it preserves signal integrity in high-speed digital video applications. The device also supports HDCP content protection pass-through and includes Ioff circuitry for partial-power-down isolation.

The TS3DV520 operates as a passive FET switch matrix. When the SEL pin is set low, the 10-bit port A is connected to the 20-bit common port; when SEL is high, the 10-bit port B is connected to the common port. Each of the five differential channels consists of four single-ended switch paths (positive and negative for each direction). The NMOS/PMOS parallel pass transistor structure provides rail-to-rail signal handling from 0V to 5V on the data I/O pins, accommodating the TMDS DC balanced signaling used in DVI and HDMI. The low and flat Ron ensures minimal signal attenuation and distortion, while the low on-capacitance preserves the high-frequency edge rates required for 1.65 Gbps data rates. Ioff circuitry prevents damaging backflow current when the device is powered down.
