The USB2412-DZK is a 2-port Hi-Speed USB 2.0 hub controller from Microchip with Single Transaction Translator (STT), designed for embedded USB port expansion. It integrates USB termination and pull-up/pull-down resistors, internal 1.2V regulators, and built-in default configuration, requiring no external ROM or configuration components. PHYBoost enhances USB signal quality for challenging PCB layouts. PortMap and PortSwap features provide flexible port routing. The commercial-grade device operates from a single 3.3V supply in a compact 28-pin QFN (5x5mm) package.

The USB2412 operates as a USB 2.0 hub between the upstream host port and two downstream device ports. The Single Transaction Translator (STT) handles split transactions for full-speed and low-speed devices connected to the hub when operating at Hi-Speed upstream. The internal PHY includes UTMI+ transceivers for all three ports. An on-chip 24MHz crystal oscillator driver generates the reference clock. Built-in default descriptors and configuration eliminate the need for external EEPROM. The SIE (Serial Interface Engine) manages packet formatting, CRC generation/checking, and NRZI encoding/decoding for all ports.
