The UWS-12/4.5-Q48N-C from TRACO Power is a 54W isolated DC-DC converter in quarter-brick format. 36-75VDC input (48V nominal) for telecom bus compatibility. 12V/4.5A regulated output. 93% efficiency minimizes thermal management. 1500VDC isolation for safety in telecom and industrial applications.

A forward or half-bridge converter topology with transformer isolation. The input is filtered, then chopped at high frequency (200-400kHz), transformed to the output voltage, rectified (synchronous for efficiency), and filtered. Feedback regulation adjusts duty cycle for constant output voltage. Input-output isolation through the power transformer provides 1500VDC galvanic separation.
